Department of Clinical Affairs
The Department of Clinical Affairs as a structural unit of the Ternopil National Medical University named after I. Ya. Gorbachevskiy, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, was established by order of the rector in 2015. The formation and development of the medical department since the founding of the Ternopil Medical Institute is associated with such names as: prof. N. I. Tumashova, prof. B. I. Rudyk, prof. L. Ya. Kovalchuk, prof. V. V. Bihunyak, Assoc. I. Ya. Gospodarskyi, prof. O. I. Yashan, Assoc. A.D. Bedeniuk, prof. L. S. Babinets, prof. M. I. Shved, prof. N. I. Yarem. Since 2015, the medical and preventive work of the medical university has been headed by prof. S. Y. Zaporozhian. The main direction of the department's activity is the implementation of curative and preventive work by the teachers of clinical departments at the level of European and general education standards, as well as the fulfillment of tasks defined by the concept of the development of the health care of the population of Ukraine.
The department carries out planning, organization and management of medical and diagnostic activities, control over the quality and efficiency of the medical process, as well as records and reports on medical work issues, performs functions related to work analysis and implementation of innovative developments in the medical and diagnostic process and medical work of the faculties, educational and scientific institutes, university departments, provides approvals and the use of advanced scientific technologies in clinical practice. Educational and practical centers of primary health care, stomatological department, and clinical departments of the university are subordinated to the medical department.

The treatment department actively cooperates with practical health care institutions of regional, city and district administration, establishes and develops relations with educational institutions, research institutions, organizations, enterprises, including foreign ones. In particular, cooperation agreements were signed with the Zalishchytsky Regional Communal Hospital for the War Disabled and Rehabilitated, the Bilche-Zolotets Regional Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Hospital. A cooperation agreement was signed between Ternopil National Medical University named after I.Ya. and Hunting, the Department of Health Protection of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, with the Volyn Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, the Department of Health Protection of the Volyn Regional State Administration, the Chernihiv Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, the Department of Health Protection of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration , the Chernivtsi Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, the Department of Health Protection of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
The subject of the agreement is the examination of adults and children of Zakarpattia, Khmelnytskyi, Volyn, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions from risk groups for Lyme borreliosis. An agreement was signed between Ternopil National Medical University named after I.Ya. of emergency medical aid and disaster medicine", KNP "Ternopil regional blood service center", charitable organization "Charity Foundation", Petrykivskyi regional geriatric boarding house, Novosilkivskyi regional special educational complex. Branches of the Departments of Surgery of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the I. Ya. Horbachevskyi TNMU of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were created on the basis of the KNP "O. F. Gerbachevskyi Regional Clinical Hospital" of the Zhytomyr Regional Council.
Branches of departments of medical rehabilitation were created on the basis of the medical center "International Rehabilitation Clinic of Kozyavkin". The university conducts scientific and practical conferences with master classes with the participation of simulation center workers, as well as round tables in the treatment and prevention units of the Central Medical Center of the region, in the Bilche-Zolotets Regional Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Hospital. A consultative and diagnostic team "Clinic on Wheels" was created to provide consultative and medical assistance to children and adults of the region.
